Tony shared on Twitter tonight that he had wrapped up a writing session with lead singer of the Neon Trees, Tyler Glenn, and producer Briyun Lee. He confirmed that this session was just for fun and nothing to do with No Doubt.

Tyler posted a nice photo of himself and Tony this afternoon on Instagram. He also hinted that Tony would be seeing them again soon. Wishing the guys good luck!

  1. Soooo frustrating to see him writing/recording with everybody and their mother except his own band…. I smell another looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong hiatus.

  2. It’s so weird how they have all the time in the world for all these little projects besides their families, but can’t get together in the studio for once a week or so. I know Gwen is pregnant, but this can’t really be the only reason for them not be writing/recording a little every once in a while, can it? I’m not talking about spending the nights at the studio, but what about just jamming a little for a few hours? Maybe just for fun, only to keep in touch with making music and being a band. It doesn’t surprise me that they always have such a hard time once they decide to actually make a new album. They just never “practice” between albums.

  3. I think it just comes down to Gwen not being at all interested in the band right now. I think she just wants to be a mom, which is why I don’t think we will have more music for a very, very long time. I don’t blame the guys for finding new passions and being creative elsewhere.

  4. I guess the thing with Gwen is that when she makes music, she wants it to be huge. She doesn’t want to release songs or albums “just for the fans” that go by completely unnoticed by the general public. She wants to be out there and have hit singles, which is understandable. Maybe that’s why she isn’t motivated: She’s probably afraid that all their effort couldn’t be worth it in the end just like with P&S. They’ve worked for years on this album and got practically nothing out of it.

  5. I think you’re right about that. I also wonder if she felt obligated to put out another record just because it was a promise she made to the boys and fans. They gave their lives to us for many years and now they are able to take a step back and enjoy their families. I can’t blame them for that, but I’m also not going to stick around much longer. I can’t take much more of these pap shots, pregnany/body gossip, and side projects being the only news. I will always love them and listen to them every day, but I can’t go another 10 years with little to no productiveness from them.

  6. I agree with you guys. I’ve decided that I’m going to stop looking at BSO until something substantial comes out from the band. It’s just incredibly boring looking at pap pics and no news ever. Thanks Jenny for your dedication to the site though!

  7. Yeah…me too Simon. I’ll still pop in once in awhile to see if anything is happening, but I’m going to pass on the pregnancy stuff that will consume this site and others for the next 9 months. Thanks Jenny for everything! You do a wonderful job! xoxoxo
