Gwen is featured in the latest issue of People magazine with new photos from her Kuu Kuu Harajuku shoot and where she discusses her positive outlook on life and love.
She reflects on her busy year and says it’s amazing how much has changed since her previous birthday last October. “It’s just crazy how much happened. I feel like I’ve had an awakening and I don’t want it to stop.” Gwen shared the same sentiment in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times admitting that she went through a small drought of sadness once reality set in that her tour was wrapping up later thing month month.
Gwen tells People that she feels like she’s “in the next phase” and says that even though the last year-and-a-half has been “challenging”, she says that “it was also one of my favorite things that ever happened to me.” The article references boyfriend Blake Shelton in helping her bounce back but with her heartfelt third solo album debuting at #1, being able to tour again around the country with her three boys this summer, the relaunch of her brands including Harajuku Lovers, Kuu Kuu Harajuku — we can only imagine how blessed she really feels. Gwen also credits working hard on her “spiritual exercising” in helping her cope with the craziness in her life saying that she finally felt like she was “seeing in color.” “Everything has more meaning and more feeling and more purpose. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.”
On the future, Gwen says that “there’s always amazing things to come” and she’s just living in the moment. She does admit that it’s hard not knowing what’s around the corner for her but finishes by saying, “I love when you don’t know what’s going to happen next and something great happens”
Gwen also recalls bringing her three songs along on the road this summer and says that they acted like little roadies. She shared that they would all go on adventures on the tour’s off-days including a trip to Blake’s ranch in Oklahoma. “Growing up in Anaheim, my version of the country was the beach or a local park. There wasn’t a lot of that kind of experience, so it’s been really fun.”
