Steve has been working with Steel Pulse’s David Elecciri on the project and has been releasing clips of him in the studio over the last few months on Instagram. He does also mention when asked if new music was on the way, he says that music is coming but he’s not sure if it will be another EP or a full album.
In the interview, Steve also discusses plans on hitting the road and him and his team are working on putting a show together. “We want it to be very visual and theatrical, so it’s going to take some time.”
He credits his time in being with No Doubt for getting him to where he is today. “Being a part of such a big band has influenced me in such a profound way that it may be impossible to explain.”
Steve also shares the process behind writing and recording his latest EP, Runaways. He says that himself and his collaborator Javan Slagle attempted to create “something modern yet classic”. Steve explains that they came up with the music first and the lyrics soon followed. He says he was inspired by Hollywood nightlife for the lyrics. The direction (which may come as across a huge departure for fans) came almost accidentally for Steve and his partner “The project started off as a improvised live performance based group. The tracks I was playing trumpet over were the inspiration of what the EP eventually became. We just wanted to capture a vibe that was modern, sexy, and hip.”
If you haven’t already, make sure to pick up and support Steve’s latest EP Runaways, featuring the new single and title track.
Check out some new material (that we can hopefully look forward to!) that Steve has been sharing on his Instagram! Steve also hinted to both Adrian and Gabe possibly appearing in upcoming music, too.
