Tom took to Twitter this morning to discuss what sounds are coming out of the studio this time around. On the tracks: “they are all different – some epic, some beautiful, some fun, some ska some rock some reggae some wicked some loud…”. Sounds great to us and it’s refreshing to see the band starting to open up a little more about the new album. Tom also says that there is “so much greatness happening”.

Tom says they are back in the studio recording today.

Pharrell Williams was also confirmed to be working with the band again for the new record.

  1. Simon, I know! He had asked on Twitter for collaboration suggestions and of course I said ND. I bet Tony and Elan are still close so… why not? Everything that has come out of those two together (“I Wanna Yell”, “All Nighter” and “Slave to Love”) is pure gold. Make it happen, ND! 😉

  2. It sounds like they are having more fun recording this record and it’s coming a lot easier for them, so I will believe them! I’m still doubtful about a 2013 release though LOL

That’s always a good sign. I’m skeptical after P&S but I admit there seems to be a good feeling around this. My hope is that they just needed to warm up again after not writing together for so long. Now they are fully back in it, the pressure is off and they can have some fun.

  4. Agreed! And hopefully they can commit to promoting, marketing and touring this record properly this time around!

    1. Amanda, exactly. I got over the fact that it wasn’t my favorite record but it killed me how it was promoted and how little we actually saw of heard from them. Especially after years and years of waiting. But I have faith in them.
