Tom just Tweeted this picture of Adrian getting some acupuncture done. Looks intense! He shared too that it’s “too early to say” if there will be more than 11 tracks on the new album.

Also, Steve and Gabe are recording with them this evening. We’re hoping for lots and lots of horns on this album! Gabe Tweeted that producer Greg Kurstin joined the band in the studio tonight.

  1. Horns are not only played in ska music… I won’t say “yay or nay” till I hear this album and see the a true commitment to promoting it this time around. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan, but I got really upset with the whole P&S era, so I won’t play (blind) ubber fan and say amen to everything ND say or do this time around.

  2. Nah, not all the fans. I’m still totally committed to them and think everyone is way too hard on P&S. Do I think it’s perfect? No. But I think there’s a lot of great stuff in there. Settle Down and Push and Shove are amazing in my opinion.
And a true commitmemt to promoting? I don’t understand. They performed tons of televised performances. Interscope paid for ads everywhere. When Settle Down was released, the internet was flooded with articles on it. Gwen personally pushed her other commitments way down on the list (hello, LAMB? She wasn’t even been going to fashion week when it was still there to work on P&S more). I think ND personally tried really hard.

Do I think Interscope pushed the correct singles at the correct times? No.
But I don’t think that’s No Doubt’s fault. And if the music did not take with radio listeners, it’s not their fault. I think it’s smart to quickly move onto the next project. No point in continuing to promote P&S when not much else could be done at this point – or worse, them not move onto the next project AND not promote P&S.
We should be thankful they’re making music again and not taking another really long break.
