Everyone at Beacon Street Online would like to congratulate and wish No Doubt a very happy 11th anniversary to the band’s fifth album, Rock Steady.
Rock Steady came out on this day back in 2001 and peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart. The album spawned many fan favorites and hits including “Hey Baby”, “Hella Good”, “Underneath It All” and “Running”. The album has sold over 3 million copies worldwide and earned No Doubt two Grammy Awards for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal (both for “Hey Baby” and “Underneath It All”.)
The album spawned two successful US and world tours and Rock Steady Live was released shortly after on DVD.
Rock Steady was such a huge and successful time for the band. It was the first time No Doubt had written and recorded outside of Los Angeles, collaborated with other artists and producers and explored many new sounds. The album won No Doubt their first Grammy Awards (they were also nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2003).
What was your favorite song from the album?

Best song: Don’t Let Me Down. I loved it the moment I heard it! I also love Rock Steady (the song), UIA, Running, and IMH. This era was also the first time I saw ND live!
The only thing I didn’t care for during this era was Gwen’s style. The thongs, the fake hair… It wasn’t her best lol Although, I did love her “concert” hair in the high ponytail.
They better get grammys again
121101 !!! I can remember how excited I was when Rock Steady came out, had my mom get it for me while I was at school and she had it in the car when she picked me up, oh I was excited. Don’t Let Me Down is still my favorite track, hella good and start the fire, the whole album is classic and a good hit after return of Saturn, and the bside new friend, that’s my shhhh!
I can’t decide if “Start the Fire” or “Rock Steady” is my favorite song!
No votes for Waiting Room…. LOL
WR is an odd song, but I love it!
I just listened to this album again the other day. Gwen’s voice was spot on! Really amazing. You can tell they had a lot of fun recording this LOL
Waiting Room is ok…I’m not much of a Prince fan, so that’s probably why I don’t like it more.
