So I decided to take a day off — and I’m behind now! So, No Doubt have signed a couple items for the Road to Recovery auction on eBay which includes a signed L.A.M.B. handbag going for $500 (a pretty good deal) and a bass guitar signed by the whole band going for $250 — woah! The details have been taken from nodoubt.com, which gives a little history on the auction. No Doubt seem to have been so involved with helping others lately, just proves what amazing people they are.

No Doubt donated a few items to the Road To Recovery auction which benefits our friend Jay Thomas. Jay suffered a major spinal chord injury recently and was paralyzed. To help his family with much needed medical expenses, we donated some items for this very worthy cause. The auction is live now so please check it out and help if you can. Other artists featured in the auction include Tony Hawk, Social Distortion, Kelly Slater, Nine Inch Nails and a gift pack from KROQ in Los Angeles. Click here to visit the Road To Recovery Auction.

All proceeds from the sale of these items will go to the Jay Thomas Special Needs Trust. For more information on Jay Thomas and his road to recovery click here.

And No Doubt also just posted their charity initatives on their website as well.

In an effort to support causes close to the band, No Doubt have decided to take their charitable work to the next level. Our work will include hosting charity events, auctions and outreach to help raise funds for organizations in need.

We’re kicking off this commitment to charity with a fundraiser tied to the band’s upcoming tour – a chance to bid on VIP packages for each show. Each package includes VIP seats, tour memorabilia and a private meet and greet with the band. The tour auction unfolds in four waves, each wave directed at benefiting a different charity. Sixty percent of funds raised will go directly to those four charities.

No band member or representatives will keep a dime of money raised.

There are two reasons for holding in reserve 40% of proceeds raised.

First, there are many charities out there in need of funds. This auction enables the band to immediately give a big chunk of money to four different charities whose causes are personal to them. Outside of those charities, we will hold in reserve some funds to help out other charities throughout the year. Additionally, there are emergency situations that arise unexpectedly. Hurricane Katrina, the tsunami in Southeast Asia and the fires in San Diego are all examples of recent tragedies that leave many people in need of help. We want to hold onto a portion of proceeds raised so we can lend a hand when situations like these arise.

Second, there are hard costs to keeping a charitable organization up and running. Things like the development of this website, the charity administrator, etc. all cost money. A portion of the proceeds is reserved to cover these expenses.

No Doubt will post a full accounting of funds at the end of the year for fans to review. Our goal is to continue raising money for worthwhile charities in the years to come. Thank you for helping us make a difference in the world today and in the future.
