We are loving all the press and it’s only going to get better.
Rolling Stone — No Doubt has finally set a date for the release of their long-awaited new album. “Ear candy coming your way!” the band wrote in a message on their website announcing that the record will be coming out on September 25th.
This will be the sixth studio album for the band, and their first release since Rock Steady in 2001. No Doubt had started working on the recordings in 2008, when Stefani was pregnant with her second child, and the band set out on tour in 2009.
“A lot of stuff happened during that time period,” singer Gwen Stafani told Rolling Stone last June. “Marriages, babies and, for me, two records and two clothing lines. So if you really worked out the math, you’d be like, ‘Wow, you guys are going fast.'”
Yahoo — After multiple delays, No Doubt has announced the release date of their highly anticipated sixth studio album.
The SoCal rockers dropped the news in a video posted on their YouTube page on Friday.
“Our record is coming out on September 26th,” No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani announced in the video (surrounded by bandmates Tony Kanal, Adrian Young and Tom Dumont), before bursting into laughter as the boys pointed out she got the date wrong.
“I mean… September 25!” Gwen quickly corrected herself.
“We hope you like the new video and the big news — the new album will be out on September 25. We are incredibly excited to share the new music with you. Ear candy coming your way!” the band added in a message posted on their website. “Thank you all so much for your support over the last 25 years. We’re really proud of our new album and we hope you love it as much as we do.”
The new record marks No Doubt’s first album since 2001’s “Rock Steady.”
KROQ — 2012 has now unofficially been dubbed the year of highly-anticipated reunions. Garbage, who are playing KROQ’s Weenie Roast y Fiesta tomorrow, are putting out their fifth album after a seven-year hiatus; Anaheim, California’s No Doubt just announced the release date of what will be their sixth album.
Although lead singer Gwen Stefani became a pop icon with her solo music, the 1986-formed four-piece hasn’t put out a new record since 2001′s Rock Steady.
Through social media updates on Twitter and Facebook, the band has teased their fans with shots of them working in the studio; Stefani and Tony Kanal even performed on American Idol.
But there was no official word on when their album–eleven years in the making–would reach the ears of their diehard fans. Until today.
In a press release via their website, No Doubt announced that their still untitled album will be out on September 25th, the band said:
“Thank you all so much for your support over the last 25 years. We’re really proud of our new album and we hope you love it as much as we do. We’ll be posting a lot of updates between now and September as we shoot the video and start rehearsing to perform the new songs live for all of you.â€
“We’ll send plenty of photos and webisodes as we go so you’re there with us. See you soon… September 25th, 2012!â€
