On today’s Flashback Friday, we’re looking back at some special interviews with No Doubt the Virgin Megastore in Costa Mesa, California in 2000. The band talked about the new album (Return of Saturn) before hitting the stage for a special free CD release concert at the record store.

At the time, Gwen says that it’s incredible that the band was still together after 13 years and how recording the album was magic because of the unnecessary pressure from the record company.

These interviews are incredible (and hilarious!) and are followed by some amazing recorded footage from the show. Enjoy and thank you again to Pierre for sharing.

  1. Listening to that girl talk about her mum driving her early morning to get the new record kind of makes me disappointed I’ll never get a chance to do that for my kids, haha. How we purchase music has changed so much, I suppose I can still drive them to shows and help them dye their hair. :p

  2. Thanks so much for posting this! This was my 2nd time seeing them. The first time being the day before at jay leno. This takes me way back and brings such great memories

  3. I have never seen this before. The interview right at the beginning must be the definition of the word “awkward” lol. I love how they are just standing there, looking at each other and waiting for any of them to answer those dull questions lol.
