Tom has took to Twitter to confirm that the band all wrote different parts of “Push and Shove”, which is the collaboration between the band, Major Lazer and Busy Signal.
@tomdumontnd @nfisteus It’s a collaboration between Busy, Major Lazer and Us. We all wrote different parts. It’s awesome, a really amazing song…
Well this is pretty interesting! So with the September rumors of the album release swirling, upcoming collaborator Busy Signal (whom is confirmed on “Push and Shove”) has mentioned in a new interview that he thinks the song will be the lead single and we should be hearing it before August, when he says the album will be released. Very cool! It does sound on track to where the band is right now (Gavin had mentioned in a new interview last week that the the new album was coming in September). Busy Signal goes on to say that he’s really excited about the track and that he wrote both his and Gwen’s parts in “Push and Shove” (to be honest, we don’t like how he seems to be taking all the credit for writing the song…). Again, we need to emphasize that the band has not confirmed a release date, or single for that matter, but we are pretty confident we will have the album by September. If our instincts our right, we should be hearing a single in the next couple months.
Yesterday the band had mentioned they were still writing.
United Reggae — “…Major Lazer has produced this track with me and Gwen Stefani of No Doubt. No Doubt’s album is supposed to be coming out in August and that’s definitely a good thing… I’m really looking forward to that track we did for Gwen Stefani. I wrote that track – both her part and my part. It’s definitely a good look, looking out to fuse different styles. Gwen Stefani loves reggae music but she’s also a big artist across the world pop-wise and in the alternative with No Doubt so it’s definitely a plus for me.”
Shimmy Shimmy — “…we just did a track with No Doubt, with Gwen Stefani for the new album, and I wrote the whole thing and everything. I think that’s going to be the lead single for the album which will be out sometime in August and it’s that kind of vibe cos it’s produced by Major Lazer. So I’m doing some work with him now and that’s really what he does – house music, upbeat kind of stuff, and I’m into just trying different things with music.”
