13th Anniversary Release of Rock Steady

Everyone at Beacon Street Online would like to congratulate and wish No Doubt a very happy 13th anniversary to the band’s fifth album, Rock Steady.

Rock Steady came out on this day back in 2001 and peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart. The album spawned many fan favorites and successful hits for the band including “Hey Baby”, “Hella Good”, “Underneath It All” and “Running”. The album has sold over 3 million copies worldwide and earned No Doubt two Grammy Awards for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal (both for “Hey Baby” and “Underneath It All”.)

The album spawned two successful US and world tours and Rock Steady Live was released shortly after on DVD. Rock Steady was such a huge and successful time for the band. It was the first time No Doubt had written and recorded outside of Los Angeles, collaborated with other artists and producers and explored many new sounds. The album won No Doubt their first Grammy Awards (they were also nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2003).

  1. Some of No Doubt’s best and most innovative work!! This album was ahead of its time & still stands the test of time! Tragic Kingdom & Rock Steady are my favorite No Doubt albums! I wish “Don’t Let Me Down” or “Making Out” wouldve been a single instead of “Running”. This record makes me proud to be a fan!

    1. ND never had a #1 in the USA. “Underneath it all” reached #3 and “Don’t speak” never charted on the Billboard Top 100, because it wasn’t released as a single. “Don’t speak” was an airplay hit and reached #1 on the airplay charts.
