    October 21, 2014 Gwen working with Charli XCX on “a couple of tracks”

    After rumors of working together, Gwen confirmed that English singer/songwriter Charlie XCX has been writing “a couple of tracks” for her upcoming album.

    Gwen also shared that she’s unsure at this time if she will tour on her own again for the album.

    October 21, 2014 Gwen and Pharrell re-working “Carousel” for upcoming album

    Gwen revealed in a new radio interview with KISS FM’s JoJo Wright that Pharrell presented her their unused solo track “Carousel” for the album. The pair re-worked it from the previous version and she could see it possibly on her upcoming album.

    October 20, 2014 Gwen hoping to have album out in December

    After Monday’s episode of The Voice, Gwen participated in a live Q&A on Twitter and answered a few lucky fans questions about her upcoming album. She shared that the album did have a name and she would have it out in December “if all goes well”.

    October 20, 2014 Gwen reveals new tracks “Spark The Fire”, “Heart Shaped” and “Whoa”

    In a new radio interview with Amp 97.1, Gwen revealed a few new track titles that she has been working on with Pharrell for her upcoming album: “Spark The Fire”, “Heart Shaped” and “Whoa.”

    She also unexpectedly teased the hip-hop flared song “Spark The Fire” on-air and hinted at it being the second single with the music video already filmed with director Sophie Muller. Gwen says that the song was one of the tracks that she had worked on with Pharrell in both New York and Miami recently.

    October 19, 2014 Gwen’s new single “Baby Don’t Lie” available now


    Gwen’s first single from her upcoming solo album, “Baby Don’t Lie”, hit online retailers today including iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. “Baby Don’t Lie” was co-written and produced by Benny Blanco, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and Zancanella. Gwen revealed that the single was one of the first tracks she worked on outside of No Doubt for her new solo album.

    The heavy technicolor music video, directed by Sophie Muller and Weirdcore, was released on Tuesday, October 21, and debuted on Vevo to mixed reviews.

    October 5, 2014 Gwen appearing on Calvin Harris album; “Together”

    Producer Calvin Harris announced that Gwen is appearing on his upcoming album Motion, due out November 4. “Together” was teased on Instagram a week later to rave reviews.

    Rumors are floating around that “Together” will be featured on both Harris’ album and Gwen’s.

    October 1, 2014 Gwen “collecting ideas” from DJ Mustard

    A source reported that Gwen has been “collecting ideas” from DJ Mustard. He also recently produced Fergie’s new comeback track “L.A. Love (La La)”.

    September 29, 2014 Gwen’s manager confirms third solo album set for December release

    In a new interview with Billboard, Gwen’s manager, Irving Azoff, confirmed that Gwen was working currently on her new solo album in Miami, Florida with Pharrell Williams. He continued by saying that she was deciding which track to pick as a lead single (though news of “Baby Don’t Lie” was sent to radio previously) and would perform the song live on The Voice. Its being said that the tentative release date of October 6 for “Baby Don’t Lie” was up in the air because of wanting to line up promotion with The Voice.

    Interscope chairman John Janick also spoke with Billboard and said that Gwen is on track to have her new album released in December 2014. Benny Blanco (confirmed writer on “Baby Don’t Lie”) is set to executive produce and will “come out in partnership with his label [Mad Love Records] as part of our overall deal with him.”

    September 18, 2014 Gwen confirms new solo album

    In a new interview with Rachel Zoe’s Women of Style, Gwen confirmed that she was working on a new album of her own as well on material for an upcoming release from No Doubt.

    September 16-19, 2014 “Baby Don’t Lie”

    In mid September, rumors were swirling of a new single from Gwen set to debut in early October titled “Baby Don’t Lie”. The single was accidentally shared on Interscope’s insider promotion site (which was quickly taken down) and started to spread on music forum boards and social networks.

    A few days later, multiple sources came forward saying that “Baby Don’t Lie” did exist and was scheduled to hit radio on October 14. A good friend of BSO and radio insider shared that she heard the song and called it “total Top 40” with a “driving beat” featuring “tribal” flair. “Baby Don’t Lie” was later listed on ASACP with writing credits for Benny Blanco, Gwen, Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic) and Noel Zancanella. A music video for the single was reportedly shot in Los Angeles with Sophie Muller on September 21.

    Radio confirmed that Gwen’s debut solo single for her upcoming third album, “Baby Don’t Lie”, is set to hit pop radio on October 14.

    September 15, 2014 Gwen working with Love, JT

    Up and coming hip-hop artist Love, JT shared a photo on Instagram of himself and Gwen revealing that they were working together on presumably new music.

    September 5, 2014 Gwen confirms new work with Pharrell; NYC session

    While in New York for NYFW, both Gwen and Pharrell confirmed that they were working together on new music. The pair planned on meeting up in the studio directly after Gwen’s L.A.M.B. spring 2015 presentation on Sept. 5. Pharrell spoke with MTV News about the new material saying “Gwen is killing it right now” saying “she sounds amazing… you’re going to see”.

    Gwen also spoke with MTV about wanting to release both a new solo and No Doubt album in the near future saying “At this point I’m thinking about both, I can do both… And it’s just an amazing time; so many opportunities. I’m going into the studio tonight with Pharrell [Williams], I’m going to be writing and also just seeing what comes along my way. I’ve been recording a few things.”

    August 27, 2014 Gwen back in the studio with Pharrell

    Pharrell’s clothing line shared a photo of himself with Gwen in the studio once again working together on a project.

    August 24, 2014 Gwen confirms new music for both No Doubt and solo

    During a red carpet interview with Access Hollywood at the MTV Video Music Awards, Gwen confirmed that she was writing material for both No Doubt and “new music generally”. When asked if she would release a new solo album, Gwen said that she wants to “do it all”.

    “I’m doing new music… With new music, you never know when its going to happen exactly, but we are working on new music, on new No Doubt music, just new music generally.” On another solo release: “I’m not exactly sure what’s going to happen. I’m in this weird place where things just happen now. I don’t know what’s happening now, but I want to do both [a solo album and a No Doubt album]. I want to do it all.”

    August 24, 2014 Studio session with Pharrell Williams and Kap-G

    Musician Kap-G posted on Twitter that he was in the studio with both Gwen and Pharrell Williams. He also shared a photo of the three working together on new music using the hashtag #history.

    August 20, 2014 Mikky Ekko writing for Gwen

    USA Today revealed in an article on musician Mikky Ekko (behind Rihanna’s 2013 smash single “Stay”), they had listed him writing music for others (including Gwen) as an upcoming project.

    July 30, 2014 “Get ready for the Gwen Stefani onslaught”

    In late July, music publisher Micheal St. James Tweeted out asking fans to “get ready for the Gwen Stefani onslaught”. More curiously is he hinted to “a lot” coming from Gwen saying “its good” and the “definition of 360 deal”. Since nothing had been confirmed either way about the solo news, the Tweet may also have been referring to Gwen’s multiple projects happening in 2014 including The Voice, L.A.M.B., Harajuku Lovers (including both a new fragrance and cartoon scheduled), Harajuku Mini, DWP and a rumored holiday collection with OPI.

    Later in August, a fan had Tweeted to St. John about when we could expect a release from Gwen. He replied with “soon” saying that he couldn’t “ruin it”.

    July 14, 2014 Pharrell Williams rumored for new solo album

    While revealing the news that husband Gavin Rossdale was joining Gwen’s side on The Voice as an adviser for season seven, Yahoo! mentioned that reportedly Pharrell Williams was working with Gwen “on her first solo material since 2006”. This was news to a lot of fans considering his name hadn’t been thrown in as of yet. It was confirmed previously that he had been working with No Doubt on new material back in April 2013.

    July 13, 2014 Sia wrote for both Gwen and No Doubt

    After being photographed in the studio together in 2013, fans were curious if a collaboration with singer/songwriter Sia was on the table. During a radio interview in July, Sia commented on writing for both Gwen and No Doubt while recording music of her own.

    It was also confirmed that Sia co-wrote “My Heart Is Open”, Gwen’s latest collaboration with Maroon 5, available on their new album V, due out September 2.

    July 7, 2014 Gwen confirms she’s working on new music

    In a new and revealing article with Elle magazine, Gwen shared that (during the time of the interview) she didn’t “know what’s happening musically” but said she would be approaching things in a different way. Gwen confirmed that she had already “started” on new music after being inspired by her recent performance on The Voice with “Hollaback Girl”. The single once again shot up the charts due to the performance and Gwen’s special appearances with Pharrell onstage at Coachella and in Hollywood.

    It still is unclear if she meant music of her own or with No Doubt but many speculate she was referring to solo material.

    July 3, 2014 Diplo has “done some stuff” for Gwen

    In a new interview with Idolator, Major Lazer frontman Diplo revealed that he’s “done some stuff” for Gwen’s “new record possibly”.

    June 26, 2014 New release from Gwen in “Q4”

    Paul Moss, whom works closely with Nielsen SoundScan, Tweeted out that a new release from Gwen is expected in “Q4” (quarter four) of 2014 alongside U2.

    April 26, 2014 The New Royales confirm new music with Gwen

    The New Royales, production duo including Chin and DJ Khalil, shared a photo with Gwen in what looked like a home studio (presumed to be Gwen’s). The photo was tagged with #lookoutsummer2014 and the two confirmed that they had been working with Gwen on new music.

    The collaboration could have been No Doubt related, Tom mentioned on Twitter to a fan earlier in the week that no news from the band was available.

    April 19, 2014 New solo album from Gwen “in the works”

    Shortly after Adrian’s comments of getting No Doubt back on the road later in the year, Hits Daily Double, a reliable music industry insider, posted on their site that a “new solo album” was “in the works” for Gwen.

    Pharrell announced onstage that Gwen was “making her arrival back to the music industry” during a surprise appearance at Coachella with “Hollaback Girl” which sparked more speculation about a solo return.

    January 6, 2014 Gwen has “things” she’s “figuring out” music-wise”

    After minds were already racing with the idea of another solo release, Gwen revealed to WWD magazine that “music-wise” she still had some things that she was figuring out. Though she didn’t say anything more, fans were curious what she exactly meant by that. While promoting Push and Shove in 2012, Gwen stated several times that she wasn’t interested in releasing anything else on her own, but with No Doubt once again on another lengthy hiatus, some had come to expect another solo album from her.

    November 22, 2013 Producer Ariel Rechtshaid working with Gwen in new year

    Music producer Ariel Rechtshaid (Major Lazer, Haim, Vampire Weekend) spoke with Pitchfork about his line of upcoming projects for the new year, including working with Gwen.


    No Doubt’s followup to Push and Shove (December 2012-present)

    No Doubt first shared they were back in the studio in December of 2012 and were steadily in and out of the studio up until July 2013, when Tom announced that the band was indeed taking some time off to “recharge their batteries”.

    Gwen has confirmed that work is being simultaneously done on an upcoming solo and No Doubt albums.

    October 20, 2014 New song “Shine” recorded with Pharrell

    Gwen revealed that Pharrell presented her a new track titled “Shine” that No Doubt fell in love with and recorded for their upcoming album. A few days earlier Adrian and Tom has posted photos on Instagram of themselves in the studio working on new material.

    September 14, 2014 Bonnie McKeee reportedly writing for No Doubt

    In a new article from Genlux magazine, it’s being reported that American singer-songwriter, Bonnie McKee, is currently writing for No Doubt. McKee is behind some of the biggest hits from Katy Perry, Britney Spears and Taio Cruz.

    September 5, 2014 Gwen confirms work on both new solo and No Doubt albums

    While in New York for NYFW, both Gwen and Pharrell confirmed that they were working together on new music.     April 10, 2014 “Shows in the near future” for No Doubt

    While in Las Vegas for the MJCI Gala held at the Aria Hotel and Casino, Adrian was interviewed by OK! magazine and revealed that No Doubt “we’re talking about doing shows in the near future” and possibly planning on debuting new music. Adrian said it would be very exciting again after another lengthy hiatus.

    Interestingly, OK! magazine also mentioned something about the band releasing an album of unreleased songs.

    January 6, 2014 Gwen on new music and collaborating with Rita Ora

    In a new and revealing interview with WWD, Gwen shared that “music-wise” she had “some things” that she was still figuring out. Fans took the quote pretty literally and it added fuel to the flames of another solo release. With No Doubt still on an extended hiatus, another album of her own was coming to be expected next from fans and music critics.

    Music producer Ariel Rechtshaid had commented back in November that he was planning to work with Gwen in the upcoming year.

    Rumors were also going around of Gwen pairing up with UK pop sensation Rita Ora for a collaboration. Ora later confirmed that a song was ready for Gwen to work on saying their possible collaboration was “80%” there.

    October 30, 2013 Another hiatus and side projects for No Doubt

    With summer wrapped up and fall upon us, Tom responded to another fan on Twitter about the band’s status. Tom expressed how No Doubt was “on a hiatus for a while” and stated that news might come in the new year. Taking time off was understandable — Gwen became pregnant and gave birth to her third son, Apollo Bowie Flynn Rossdale, later in February 2014.

    Tom, Tony and Adrian continued to stay busy for the duration of 2013 and early 2014 by working with various artists including: Breanna Kennedy, Jessie Malakouta, Tyler Glenn, Jelly of the Month Club, Esther, Kerry Wayne James, Adam Bravin and Steel Pulse.

    Rumors were also swirling of a super-group for Tony including friends and musicians Moby, Travis Barker, Toby Morse and Luke Wessman.

    Tom also shared that he was scoring the music to upcoming film Horrible Bosses 2 with composer Chris Lennertz.

    July 10, 2013 No Doubt taking time off to “recharge our batteries”

    After a “breakneck Spring”, Tom shared on Twitter that No Doubt was taking the summer off to spend time with families and to “recharge our batteries”. Fans had been noticing the absence of the band on Twitter especially after their whirlwind studio sessions.

    Tom confirmed to a fan that he wasn’t sure when the band would be back to work on their new material.

    May 1, 2013 No Doubt working with production team Planet VI

    Photos surfaced of No Doubt in the studio with hip-hop production duo Planet VI in Los Angeles. Known for their reggae mixtape and working with Drake, Sean Kingston and Rihanna, fans were buzzing with the thought of a little island flair coming out from the band. After a few photo ops with Miley Cyrus, Tom confirmed that the band was not working with her but just happened to be recording in the same studio.

    The following studio session on May 2 is the last documented day of the band (Gwen and Tony) working together on supposive new material.

    April 23, 2013 Pharrell Williams working with No Doubt on new material

    After sparking rumors of a possible collaboration due to studio photos, Pharrell Williams confirmed the news that he was working again with No Doubt. Tom later responded to the rumors by calling the “tracks” with Pharrell were “epic”.

    April 18, 2013 Rock Mafia and Greg Kurstin working with No Doubt

    Rolling Stone dropped bombshell news confirming that ace producing duo Rock Mafia (behind Miley Cyrus and Demi Levato) and Greg Kurstin (Pink, Lily Allen and Red Hot Chili Peppers) had been working with the band on new material. Rock Mafia’s Antonina Armato called their work with No Doubt “really amazing stuff” saying “it’s better than ever”.

    Though Rock Mafia was never mentioned by the band, No Doubt Tweeted several photos with Kurstin in-studio during the following weeks.

    April 6, 2013 No Doubt have “a lot written” and will be recording soon

    In early April, Tom had responded to a fan’s question on Twitter about No Doubt’s progress in which he shared that they had “a lot written”. He also stated the the band was about to start a “heap of recording” to do in the month.

    February 27, 2013 Ryan Tedder reportedly joined No Doubt in the studio

    After announcing they were back to work, Billboard magazine revealed that OneRepublic lead singer and songwriter, Ryan Tedder, had joined No Doubt in the studio.

    February 26, 2013 No Doubt confirm they are working on new music

    Later in February, No Doubt released an official statement on their website sharing the news that the band was indeed back in the studio working on new music for a future release. No Doubt wrote that they were inspired from touring the world in 2012 with Push and Shove and were talks in December that they wanted to get back into the studio. The band expressed how easy it was to be creative again (calling it an “expected ease”) and started working in January. They called the new pace “incredibly exciting” after being holed up for close to three years while writing and recording Push and Shove.

    While No Doubt continued to focus on writing new material, they also explained their decision to postpone their Spring/Summer tour plans to keep working in the studio. “Our goal as a band is to share this new music with you as quickly as possible – both recorded and live on tour.”

    February 7, 2013 Skirllex possible collaboration rumors

    No Doubt Tweeted a photo with dub-step superstar Skrillex which sparked rumors of a possible collaboration. Neither No Doubt or Skrillex confirmed or denied the rumors but he was spotted out a few more times with the band at public events shortly after.

    January 1, 2013 Producer Jim Jonsin reportedly working with Gwen

    USA Today published an interview with hip-hop producer Jim Jonsin whom listed Gwen’s name as an upcoming collaborator in the next year. Nothing still has been confirmed or mentioned further at this time.

    December 12, 2012 No Doubt working with songwriter/producer Shellback

    Both Gwen and Tony are photographed in the studio with Swedish song writer and producer, Shellback. A couple of days prior, the pair had Tweeted that they were indeed back in the studio writing and recording new material.
