Update: Statement Released From amfAR Dress Designer Michael Angel

We mentioned that there are tons of rumors and accusations circulating around the internet about the true designer of Gwen’s amfAR Gala dress. And now we finally have an answer. It’s being said that Gwen and L.A.M.B. are taking credit for the design, when in fact is was her L’Oreal stylist, Michael Angel’s design. That’s not the case. Michael released a statement this afternoon claiming that the dress was designed by Gwen, her team and him. It was truly a collaboration. It made us sick how people were accusing Gwen of taking credit for the dress — really? We believe that she would never stoop that low and we were personally upset about the garbage we were reading and especially how people were not even looking at the point — the dress raised over $125,000 for charity. We really respect Michael for coming up and clearing the rumor for everyone, now we hope people just keep their mouth shut and not assume and take in how beautiful the dress is. /rant

PR News — This statement is being attributed to Michael Angel. “Earlier this week a former employee from my camp spoke to the press without having full knowledge of the collaboration between Gwen Stefani, L.A.M.B., and me. I strongly want to reassure everyone that the dress was designed by Gwen Stefani for L.A.M.B. to wear and be auctioned off at the amfAR gala. I’m disappointed that the focus has shifted away from what Gwen and I originally intended, which was to create a custom outfit for a great cause. We both were thrilled with the outcome and enjoyed the process. I have nothing but respect for her and look forward to working with her on more projects in the future. I can assure you that this is my only comment on this matter and any other quotations or statements written on my behalf are false.
