The official soundtrack for Trolls is out now and features tracks included in the new animated film. You can pick up the album on both iTunes and Amazon for $9.99.

Gwen is featured throughout the soundtrack including two songs of her own with Justin Timberlake, the album’s opening track “Hair Up” and the unexpected banger “What U Working With?”. She’s also featured alongside the Trolls cast on songs straight from the film including medleys “Move Your Feet / D.A.N.C.E. / It’s a Sunshine Day”, “I’m Coming Out / Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems” and the film version of Justin Timberlake’s latest single “Can’t Stop This Feeling!”.

The Trolls soundtrack as a whole is really fun and it’s great to hear some old and familiar songs modernized for a younger generation to enjoy. Plus it’s amazing to have Gwen involved in such a huge and exciting project!

We’ve did our best in transcribing lyrics to both “Hair Up” and “What U Working With?” for fans to learn and follow along to. Please let us know if you’re hearing something different than we did!

“Hair Up” (Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani and Ron Funches) Lyrics

(Hair in the air)
(Put your hair in the air)

I’ve got a fever coming on
And now it’s beating on my bones
I feel like diamonds or some gold
So DJ play it,
That’s my song

Go, go, go, go, go,
Put your hair in the air
Go, go, go, go, go, go
Hair up

Come on baby,
Let’s go crazy
We ain’t never gonna stop
Hair up
Come on baby,
Let’s go crazy
We ain’t never gonna stop
Hair up

Put your hair in the air (hair up)
We don’t care (hair up)
Put your hair in the air (hair up)
We don’t care (hair up)

I’ve got a fever coming on
And now it’s beating on my bones
I feel like diamonds or some gold
So DJ play it,
That’s my song

Go, go, go, go, go,
Put your hair in the air
Go, go, go, go, go, go
Hair up

Come on baby,
Let’s go crazy
We ain’t never gonna stop
Hair up
Come on baby,
Let’s go crazy
We ain’t never gonna stop
Hair up

“What U Working With?” (Gwen Stefani and Justin Timberlake) Lyrics

Uh!

The way you walk in my hood,
Like we’re feeling so good
Here I am saying my, my, my
Walking over so fresh
Walking over so fly
All shine, all time

Just talking that truth
No fake,
Easy when you walk this way
I’m talking that truth
Okay, hold up!

But enough about me,
Let’s talk about you
Head down, all blue
You should be signing like these
Yeah, something like me
Make ’em go ooh, ooh, ooh

Just talking that truth
No fake,
I truly wouldn’t walk that way
Now we’re talking that truth
Okay,
This is the moment when everybody’s in the light
So what u working with?

Drop that body like you’re trying to let them know
Twist that high,
You know the bass is on the low
Take that feeling like it’s something that you stole
It ain’t about, ain’t about, it ain’t about what you not
So what u working with?

Ooh, whoa!
Show me, show me,
What u working with?
What?
What u working with?

Keep running that mouth
I don’t need a full round
I make em’ say wow,
Hit em’ like pow, pow, pow
A hundred thou

Yeah, I’m talking that truth
No fake,
Easy when you walk this way
I’m talking that truth
This is the moment when everybody’s in the light
So what u working with?

Drop that body like you’re trying to let them know
Twist that high,
You know the bass is on the low
Take that feeling like it’s something that you stole
It ain’t about, ain’t about, it ain’t about what you not
So what u working with?

Ooh, whoa!
Show me, show me,
What u working with?
What?
What u working with?

(Work! Uh!)

Drop that body like you’re trying to let them know
Twist that high,
You know the bass is on the low
Take that feeling like it’s something that you stole
It ain’t about, ain’t about, it ain’t about what you not

Ooh, whoa!
Show me, show me,
What u working with?
What?
What u working with?

It ain’t about, ain’t about, it ain’t about what you not
It ain’t about, ain’t about, it ain’t about what you not
It ain’t about, ain’t about, it ain’t about what you not
So what u working with?

  1. WUWW is amazing! This is how I picture a Gwen Stefani song in 2016. The song is on the “new music Friday” playlist on Spotify in Germany, so hopefully it will be a single.

Hair Up is cute, but I can barely hear Gwen tbh.

    1. I agree!

I was pleasantly surprised with “What U Working With?” and I think it’s a really fun track. I also can’t hear Gwen on any of the other songs really but I love that she’s with Justin Timberlake. They sound so good together!

  2. I really missed that fun side of Gwen. I love the Truth album, but it didn’t really have a “party” song, so I’m glad we got WUWW now.

  3. I like both songs, especially the production, but I think Hair Up has a lot more hit potential (it’s catchier). Really too bad you can barely hear Gwen on the track!
Still happy about these two new songs 🙂

  4. I love WYWW, but I kinda wish Justin wasn’t on it as Gwen could have carried it well by herself. Hopefully it will be a single though? Are the other tracks featuring Gwen worth buying? Does she have a big part on them?

    1. The only songs I can honestly hear Gwen in is “Hair Up” and “What U Working With?”. The other songs straight from the film feature the entire cast so it’s hard to pinpoint her out. I honestly only purchased the two for now.

  5. I only bought WUWW tbh… I can hear her at the beginning of Hair Up, but I didn’t feel the need to really buy this song. WUWW is great, but I don’t care much about the rest of this soundtrack.

  6. I guess there’s a remix out of Can’t Stop the Feeling featuring Gwen and the rest of the cast..? Has anyone listened to it?
