So, we are kind of a little peeved from all the media buzz surrounding No Doubt’s “delays” on the new albums. There are a bunch of articles online from various sources citing Gwen’s interview with the Wall Street Journal about how she’ll “probably” write a couple new songs when she’s done with L.A.M.B. I don’t think she said it like that, nice try. Of course we understand, which everyone should, with the birth of two new No Doubt babies, the members should and are taking time for themselves and their families. But people choose not to look at it that way. Sorry if it sounds like we are ranting again, but it’s just insane how media outlets spread rumors and ignorant truths about the band and the future of the new album. Gwen DID say that the band is heading back to work on the new album once she wrapped up with fashion week. Period. And did they not hear her say that being away from the band for fashion week has made he want to go back into the studio even more? As far as we know, the band is still aiming to get the record out by the end of the year, which should be fine by all of us. I don’t think people realize that they have personal lives as well, which need to be respected. Why can’t people stay positive? With all the updates and photos the band has graciously shared… I don’t get it. We love you No Doubt! Below is an example of what we are talking about.
Music Rooms — Despite the rumours that No Doubt fans may get a new album by the end of the year have been dampened by lead singer Gwen Stefani.
Stefani said that although the band have been working for a while on the new material, she is taking a little time before writing any more songs for it.
“10 songs have been recorded,†Stefani said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. “When my new fashion line is done I’ll probably write a few more songs.â€
Stefani went on to say that she did not know when the album would be completed due to other commitments of the band members. Guitarist Tom Dumont and bass player Tony Kanai have both recently become parents which has tied up a lot of their time, so fans may have to wait a little longer than originally thought for the new output from the group.
Contact Music — Gwen Stefani has warned fans of No Doubt not to expect a new album for “a while” – because most of her bandmembers are busy with new babies.
The group released its last studio album, Rock Steady, in 2001, and despite spending much of 2010 working on new tracks, the blonde beauty admits they aren’t nearing a finished project because of their other commitments.
Stefani is busy with her fashion line L.A.M.B. and guitarist Tom Dumont and bassist Tony Kanal have both recently fathered a child.
She tells the Wall Street Journal, “We’ve been doing a record all year; 10 songs have been recorded. When this (new fashion line) is done I’ll probably write a few more songs. I don’t know when it’ll come out, but you never know what can happen.
“My band takes a weird process as well. It takes so long. And all of them just had babies, so it’ll be a while.”
