Official: Gwen Confirms She Will Appear On Season 7 Of The Voice

It’s official! Gwen confirmed the news of her new judging position for season 7 of NBC’s hit singing competition show, The Voice, on her social networks this afternoon. Host Carson Daly also just announced the news on the live results show tonight (including announcing a special performance next Monday from Gwen with “Hollaback Girl!”)

TMZ was the first to report that Gwen was indeed signing on over a week ago and until today there hasn’t been an official confirmation. Current judges Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and host/producer Carson Daly all gave words of encouragement for Gwen and expressed how much they wanted her on the show but were not able to comment at the time. Just this morning, permanent figure Christina Aguilera (whom Gwen is replacing for season 7 due to maternity leave) broke the news this morning via Twitter welcoming her to the “crazy fam”.

Gwen will also be joined by friend, collaborator and first time judge Pharrell Williams for season 7. Fellow and current judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are expected to return, too.

And, oh, you lucky Californians! Season 7 will start filming in June with an air date scheduled for Fall. Typically The Voice airs twice a week, Monday and Tuesday, at 8:00 PM ET/PT on NBC. It will be very exciting being able to join Gwen on her new televised adventure and we wish her nothing but the absolute best! And lots of luck! #TeamGwen
