Gwen is back in New York and shared a few photos from her rehearsal prior to tomorrow night’s show for MasterCard Priceless Surprises. She also posed for photos and spoke to the media about her concert, being back on The Voice and what’s next for her.
In a new interview with the Associated Press, Gwen says that she would love to return to The Voice again for a future season and says that she’s already missing her Voice family now that show is halfway over. “They’re all so smart, they’re all lovely. They all got my back. I love them.” Gwen continued by saying, “I can’t wait to get back on set and do the lives. It’s so fun. It’s the funnest thing I think I’ve ever done, and so inspiring.”
She admits that she’s not too concerned about finding America’s next superstar but enjoys the process and mentoring young talent on The Voice. “I can’t imagine doing what they do. I couldn’t do it. I mean, the pressure, and then to be having us trying to tell them, ‘OK and then you can do this and you can do that,’ taking in all that information and trying to make it happen on a live TV show. It’s a lot. They do really good.”
AP says that Gwen was super excited to be back in New York ahead of her show and says she currently doesn’t “have any plans for the future”. She expressed how she’s loving living in the moment and isn’t focusing on either the past or the future. “In fact, my whole thing right now is not thinking about the past or the future and, like, being right here, right this second, because it’s so great right now. It’s such a great, amazing time.”
Not too long ago Gwen confirmed that she had close to 20 new songs completed for her upcoming album and teased that she might be performing something “new” during her show tomorrow night for MasterCard Priceless Surprises. We’re super excited for all the lucky fans who are able to go to her show tomorrow in New York and can’t wait to hear all about it!
In a new interview with People, Gwen discussed being back onstage to perform her solo material admitting it was tough at first but she feels like she’s ready now.
“I love going, ‘Uh huh, this my s—,'”, she said while singing along to “Hollaback Girl”. Gwen said she didn’t feel confident about the solo shows since she was never planning on performing her old songs again. On Friday, Gwen said, “I’m not ready yet. I still have a rehearsal today. I get to do one more rehearsal. I think, after that, I will be.”
Last night (Friday, October 16), Gwen held a dress rehearsal for her MasterCard Priceless Surprises concert tonight in New York at the Hammerstein Ballroom. She says that it was a struggle putting together her Los Angeles show earlier this year since she had not performed as a solo artist in over eight years. “It was so hard because I had nothing… I had no band, no dancers, no costumes. I had to do everything in two weeks, which is impossible.”
She admits that she was surprised that MasterCard had reached out to her and had to come to a realization that she needed to perform her old hits again. Gwen says that she didn’t think things were going to come together for her first show, and they obviously did for her, and called her previous show in Los Angeles “magic” and “incredible”.
Gwen is excited to hit the stage again tonight in New York and is rumored to be performing a brand new song titled “You Only Love You”. We’ll have to see and hope video shows up quick if the rumors are true!
