In a new interview with E! Online, NBC presidents Bob Greenblatt and Paul Telegdy teased that Gwen may be back to season 10 of The Voice. She will obviously not be returning as a coach this spring but the pair have confirmed that Gwen “will definitely be back at some point”. When asked if she would possibly step in to mentor the coaches in season 10 (like she did with Team Pharrell and Team Christina in season 8), according to E! the execs responded with “maybe”. Official announcements are said to be coming in the next couple of weeks and NBC expressed that Gwen is “very close to the show.” Paul continued by saying, “We’d love to see Gwen back. She’s a great friend of this network, we love her, the audience loves her, lots of people love her.”
In regards to her returning to the coaching chair for this fall’s season 11, NBC couldn’t say for sure and are focusing on the upcoming season and summer programming. The execs hinted that there will be “some familiar faces” and “some fresh faces too” since they like to “switch it up”. Gwen has said many times that being on The Voice has been one of her favorite things ever that she’s done and would love to return for another season.
NBC has confirmed that both Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are signed on for season 11. If Gwen releases her new album earlier in the year, we could see The Voice being an excellent platform to promote!
Us Weekly is reporting that Gwen is set to mentor Team Blake this spring on season 10 of The Voice.
