Media Going Crazy Over Gwen “Solo No More” News

So this might not be news to us No Doubters that follow everything Gwen and the boys do, but the media is eating Gwen’s new Entertainment Weekly quote all up. She mentions in the article (out this Friday), “… that was a moment in time… It went on a little longer than we all thought it would, because it was inspired and you have to go with wherever you’re at in that time in your life … everything works out how it should.” Seriously, everyone is posting the news. She has mentioned in the past how the solo jaunt went longer than expected due to the success and inspiration that kept driving her. Some sources are even saying that she called her solo work “crap”. Really? Anything to get you headlines I guess. Long story short, Gwen is back to No Doubt for now (YES!) but we will support her whatever she chooses down the line.

NY Daily News — This news is b-a-n-a-n-a-s.

Gwen Stefani says she quitting her solo music career after two successful album to rejoin No Doubt.

“That was a moment in time,” the stylish singer and mom-of-two tells Entertainment Weekly. “It went on a little longer than we all thought it would, because it was inspired and you have to go with wherever you’re at in that time in your life … everything works out how it should.”

Stefani released her first solo effort, the electro-pop-dance “L.A.M.B” (Love, Angel, Music, Baby), in 2004 and soon after started a clothing company of the same name.

Her debut peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard charts and spawned six hits, including “Hollaback Girl,” “Rich Girl” and “What You Waiting For.”

Two years later, she followed it up with “The Sweet Escape,” which went to No. 3 in the U.S.

But now, she’s turning her musical attention back on No Doubt, the band she first joined in 1986 when she 17.

After a successful summer tour in 2009, the four members took some time off to focus on their families — until now.

Gwen & the Boys will make an official announcement on their plans this Friday.

  1. Perfectly said,Jenny. Lol,it’s getting kind of annoying how the media is treating Gwen’s EW quotes as ”news”-she’s been saying her solo career is over since The Sweet Escape was released.Though I guess as Adrian said once,it’s always good when people are talking about your band, lol.
