Get ready, Kuu Kuu Harajuku fans! A new line of fashion dolls featuring HJ5 are set to hit stores this coming spring from Mattel.

People shared a first look at the line with a new photo of Gwen on-set of her recent shoot for Kuu Kuu Harajuku posing with her G doll. It was first reported in April last year that a line of “upcoming dolls and toys” were on the way inspired by the series and it’s such a huge deal that Gwen collaborated with Mattel (behind Barbie) on the upcoming launch.

In a new interview, Gwen shared that it’s been a “weird project” working on Kuu Kuu Harajuku due to the new animated series being a dream of hers for such a long time. “It’s so fun and I’m so proud of it.” She also opened up to USA Today about working on the show and credits the changes in her life, including her three boys, in preparation.

Gwen shared that her team pitched the show to Nickelodeon (to mostly women) whom liked the idea of an animated series with little girls in mind.

If you haven’t been able to tune in to Kuu Kuu Harajuku this week, you can check out the series premiere and clips on Nick.com! The show continues to air at 4:00PM ET/PT tomorrow and Friday and will kick-off in it’s regular time slot at 9:00AM Saturday morning.

  1. Those dolls look great! Hope there will be more merch for the show in the works too. Happy for Gwen for getting to live out another one of her dreams. I’m watching the show now, I really like the animation in it.

  2. Very similar to the tick tock gwen doll she released in 2006. So cool she gets to do more dolls all these years later!
