It’s finally here! Gwen announced that her new co-created and executive produced animated series Kuu Kuu Harajuku will be making it’s domestic debut on Nickelodeon! Kuu Kuu Harajuku is set to premiere the week of October 3-7 at 4:00PM ET/PT and then will move to it’s regular weekly time slot every Saturday at 9:00AM ET/PT.
In addition to a brand new trailer released by Nickelodeon, they’ve also shared the first full episode of season one titled “Music Baby / Wanted Audience” on Nick.com and official Nick app. They’ve also updated their site with a brand new Kuu Kuu Harajuku section including more about the show, the girls of HJ5 and sneak peaks at upcoming episodes.
In a new statement for People, Gwen said that partnering with Nickelodeon on Kuu Kuu Harajuku has been “a dream come true!” She continued by saying, “The artwork is so beautiful and the whole series turned out better than I could have ever imagined. I love that this is an animated series for young girls that celebrates creativity, imagination and individuality. I can’t wait for everyone to see it!”
Gwen sat down for an interview during the shoot which we hope to see soon in the coming weeks!
News of Kuu Kuu Harajuku is all over the web and several sources have included a behind-the-scenes look at promotional photos and interviews Gwen has taken part in for the announcement. Gwen teamed with This Is What the Truth Feels Like photographer Jamie Nelson for a new photo shoot inspired by familiar 60s glam.
