It’s official! The TODAY Show announced this morning that Gwen will be return to NBC’s The Voice for upcoming season 12 and will be joined by fellow coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Alicia Keys. Gwen has continued to express her love and interest to return to the hit show which she’s been absent for over the last two seasons. Season 12 will premiere in February 2017 with live tapings of the Blind Auditions starting early as next week on October 22. Fans are able to request tickets to the tapings on

President of NBC Paul Telegdy said in a new statement that he can’t wait “to experience the unique chemistry and energy Gwen, Alicia, Blake, and Adam will bring to season 12” reports Entertainment Weekly. Host Carson Daly shared on his radio show that Gwen was asked back partly due to fan demand stating, “Twitter [was] continually begging us to bring her back.” Gwen is such a dynamic force and has proved herself over her past two seasons that she’s such a strong mentor and contender on the show. She first made her debut on The Voice back in season 7 making it to the Semi Final Round with artist Taylor John Williams and all the way to the Live Finale with artist Jeffrey Austin in season 9.

Season 11 coach Miley Cyrus is already confirmed back for season 13 with the rest of the cast being announced at a later date.

Gwen most recently returned to the show during season 10 to help mentor Team Blake and also performed both “Misery” and “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” earlier this year. We’re hoping Gwen has another single coming soon to promote on the show!

Many fans were anticipating Gwen’s return and we’re really excited to see her back on The Voice! We also have a feeling that many will be tuning in to see Gwen and Blake together again on the show.

  1. How is anyone still watching this show? lol It’s too boring and predictable imho. I made an effort to watch the others seasons, but again??? Noooooooo

Well, I know she loves it, so… Good for her.

  2. Great news !! Happy for her she wanted to do this gig again. The chemistry has been off without her. I think Adam and Blake missed her energy.
That’s pretty funny tho, Gwen the Voice USA and Gavin, Voice England.
I think the show gets better as it goes along and the most competitive singers are left.

  3. I am glad she will be on again at least we will be able to see her on our tvs two nights a week if she’s not releasing new music for awhile.
Btw whatever happened to the major lazer collaboration?

  4. CONGRATS GWEN! I think it’s funny they’re starting to tape in October when season 11 is still on the air haha okay. But looking forward to February now!

  5. I don’t care about this show at all, but I still think that this is great news, because it makes new music more likely imo. I was a little sad when Gwen recently said that she doesn’t feel like recording a new album anytime soon, but now that she’ll be back on The Voice I am sure there will at least be some new singles/collaborations. Who knows? She still has all those scrapped songs with Sia and Charlie XCX…

  6. I was originally against another season of the Voice but I think its her best move now. It seems smart to me that she takes some time off music because I don’t feel like TIWTTFL was her best work. The Voice allows her to remain relevant without forcing her way through another era. I wouldn’t mind if there was no new single promoted on her season. The only new music I want to hear is from ND.

  7. Yeah I think a whole new era/album just wouldn’t make sense at this point since interest in TIWTTFL was generally low. I think it was a good return for her, but she really didn’t make any impact with that album. Some more high profile collaborations (maybe a song with Alicia?) would be nice for the fans, though.

  8. I don’t care about this show at all either. What would be nice is if she released the songs she recorded last year that the record company deemed “too personal.” I thought the divorce/Gavin/Strength/FU type tracks on TIWTTFL were the best on the record and I’d like to hear the rest. I’m hoping she takes this Voice opportunity to release a solo singles collection with one new track and then b-sides like EIT. It would be the perfect way to wrap up this solo era. Probably won’t happen though…

    1. Yes!! All the songs that didn’t make TIWTTFL and then “Start A War” because it is perfection. 🙂 It would also be fun if she released a compilation album that was all the tracks that Pharrell produced and they worked on together.

  9. I don’t want or need there to be more Gwen albums than there are No Doubt albums. You guys alllllways wanting new music lol

    1. Music is the only reason I’m still around. I don’t care much about their personal lives, side businesses or projects…
