Gwen has been named a global brand ambassador for Revlon cosmetics for 2017! She’s joined alongside a few other strong females in the industry including Ciara, Halle Berry, Alejandra Espinoza and Olivia Wilde for the brand’s new Choose Love campaign. Gwen will be one of many faces for Revlon with new print ads, media spots and branding in the near future.
WWD first reported the news of Gwen signing on with Revlon and she spoke about how the campaign drew her in from it’s parallels to her personal life. “They have this Choose Love campaign, which is full of choice and positivity and dreams and truth and I feel like that’s aligning exactly with where I’m at in my personal life in the last couple of years and how I’ve had to kind of choose love, choose truth, choose to be positive and work my way back to a place of using my gift and sharing my love with people.”
In a new statement provided by People, Gwen expressed how excited she was to be partnering with Revlon and how she’s a perfect fit for the company at this time.
“Ever since I was a young girl, I have used makeup as a form of self-expression … I am passionate about makeup and how it can showcase your individuality and creativity. Partnering with an iconic beauty brand such as Revlon felt like a natural fit. I am so excited to continue sharing my love of makeup as a Revlon.”
WWD also shared a quote from Gwen about being named Global Ambassador saying, “They’re so smart to pick me… This campaign… is really where my heart is at. Not to mention my obsession with makeup for my whole life”

In WWD, CMO for Revlon Benjamin Karsch cemented Gwen’s integrity and passion for makeup while always being a “model of female empowerment” for fans all around the world. He feels like her story and unique flair made her a perfect fit for cosmetics company.
“Gwen will clearly appeal to makeup enthusiasts… She’s known far and wide for her red lips, so that’s definitely part of the attractiveness as a brand ambassador for Revlon, but that’s really combined with who she is as a person and also her love story.”
“From the very beginning of her career she inspired fans by sharing openly about her own love story and the importance of love in her life,” Karsch continued. “She’s been a model of female empowerment for many fans across the spectrum, and the way she shares her personal story fits very well with our brand positioning around Choose Love.”
Details are still scarce if there is plans for a collaboration or products released under the Revlon x Gwen name or if she will simply just be a face for the brand and Choose Love campaign. She does admit that she’s having to get used to using different products than she’s used to. While Gwen’s notably been shying away from her signature red lip as of late, she has been focusing on a strong bow for quite some time — which she’s been achieving with a Revlon brow pencil. “It’s so youthful to have a heavier brow, it makes it look so clean and so retro.”
In a new interview with Elle Canada, Gwen says she feels really excited to be part of another campaign on this scale at this point. “To be at this point in my life and have this happen—you never believe it but then as your career goes on, you thought you were grateful, but then it becomes more intense when you start to question it. Like, ‘how can they want me now?'”
Gwen spoke about her love for working on campaigns and shared that she spent three days with Revlon where she shot “three commercials where I talk about choosing love.” We’re thrilled for Gwen to have an opportunity like this with another prestigious company like Revlon for something she’s always been so passionate about.
