In a new feature withe NY Times on stylist duo Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, Gwen spoke about working with them and being able to have a relaxed creative freedom that she finds refreshing.
After parting ways with stylist Andrea Lieberman in 2009 (whom went on to create her own fashion line A.L.C.), Gwen was paired with Rob+Mariel along with fellow client Jennifer Lopez. Andrea says that the pair were perfect for Gwen crediting them for having great taste and “incredible work ethic” in the world of melding fashion and music.
Gwen contributed to the feature via email and shared that having too much creative freedom can be overwhelming and depends on their stylistic guidance more than she may have in the past. “It’s the kind of thing where I don’t need to think about the outfits that much anymore.”
Rob+Mariel, along with The Blonds, are behind Gwen’s onstage style on her current tour. “When you have too much freedom, too much license to move, but with them, they’re so relaxed about it. We just started trying things on, and everything’s always a ‘yes.’ ‘Can we cut this off? Can we make these changes?’ And they’re always like, ‘Yes, we can make that happen.'”
Gwen’s style has been taken to another level the last few years and we appreciate and adore what the pair have collaborated on with her!
