In a new feature withe NY Times on stylist duo Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, Gwen spoke about working with them and being able to have a relaxed creative freedom that she finds refreshing.

After parting ways with stylist Andrea Lieberman in 2009 (whom went on to create her own fashion line A.L.C.), Gwen was paired with Rob+Mariel along with fellow client Jennifer Lopez. Andrea says that the pair were perfect for Gwen crediting them for having great taste and “incredible work ethic” in the world of melding fashion and music.

Gwen contributed to the feature via email and shared that having too much creative freedom can be overwhelming and depends on their stylistic guidance more than she may have in the past. “It’s the kind of thing where I don’t need to think about the outfits that much anymore.”

Rob+Mariel, along with The Blonds, are behind Gwen’s onstage style on her current tour. “When you have too much freedom, too much license to move, but with them, they’re so relaxed about it. We just started trying things on, and everything’s always a ‘yes.’ ‘Can we cut this off? Can we make these changes?’ And they’re always like, ‘Yes, we can make that happen.'”

Gwen’s style has been taken to another level the last few years and we appreciate and adore what the pair have collaborated on with her!

  1. I like her old style better – lately it’s been very Halloweeny – like the main photo of this looks very sexy-witch, and she’s had a lot of extra red too, like a she-devil costume.

  2. I’m sure she’ll revamp her LAMB line eventually. I still think Andrea Lieberman is her best stylist. It’s kinda hard to top the iconic looks she had while she was working with her. I don’t like the way her current stylist make her match with their other clients and make her more like a trend follower instead of a trendsetter.

  3. Don’t think G should be styled by the same people doing J-Lo. I will say g had some really strong outfits during push and shove… Like the full leopard outfit in NY. thank you to whoever was responsible for that one.

  4. Gwen’s look a lot better than what they are doing for Jlo.
The red and black top she wears on tour, the one I don’t like, the back zipper broke on stage tonite in Houston… maybe it was a sign to ditch that one for one that shows up better.
Lizzie and some others were like on stage trying to sew it back on.
