‘Trolls’ Cast Nominated for GRAMMY Award with “Can’t Stop The Feeling!”

The 59th annual GRAMMY Award nominations were announced this morning and Gwen has since been nominated along with her Trolls costars for “Can’t Stop The Feeling!”. A remix version of the summer-hit single is featured in the film and on the official soundtrack that includes Gwen as well as Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick, James Corden, Zooey Deschanel, Walt Dohrn, Ron Funches, Caroline Hjelt, Aino Jawo, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Kunal Nayyar. The track is nominated for Best Song Written For Visual Media.

“Can’t Stop The Feeling!” is up against “Heathens” (Twenty One Pilots, Suicide Squad), “Just Like Fire” (P!nk, Alice Through the Looking Glass), “Purple Lamborghini” (Skrillex and Rick Ross, Suicide Squad), “Try Everything” (Shakira, Zootopia) and “The Veil” (Peter Gabriel, Snowden).

While we’re obviously disappointed that Gwen herself wasn’t nominated for her own releases this year, we’re wishing the best of luck to the Trolls cast on their nomination with “Can’t Stop The Feeling!”.

Tune into the 59th annual GRAMMY Awards this coming February 2 on CBS.

  1. I don’t think many are too surprised by this? Grammy’s only go for critic darlings or top selling albums (Bieber, really?? Lol) and not much in between. TIWTTFL wasn’t either unfortunately.

  2. She was barely featured in the song…it would have been nice if each cast member had a line to sing on their own instead of drowning each other out and sounding like a random ensemble singing because you can’t distinguish any of their voices.

  3. The Grammy noms overall were a joke. They just looked at who was at the top of the charts and gave them multiple noms. Beyonce’s album was not good IMHO and a total made up marital woes, so essentially copied from Gwen’s legit this is what I am going thru album. They actually nominated Rihanna’s Work the most repetitive lyric you will ever hear in a song.
Blake had the number one selling country album and got no noms. Grammys have gone the way of the Oscars.
Gwen should have had Demi Lovato’s spot. Demi’s album was not even well reviewed.

  4. Beyoncé is deserving of a win IMO. It is a great album that I’ve been listening to consistently all year. I don’t think it’s far fetched at all that she was having marital issues. Her husband is Jay Z after all! I love Adele, but I found 25 underwhelming. I listened to it for maybe a month and haven’t since.

  5. I found her album totally unlistenable. She has had many good songs in the past her present ones just don’t compare. She did a good sell job tho with the video and the created non existing drama. If you looked closely they were never parted just carried on their normal routine of being together. She needed a backstory for her album but it just wasn’t there. Rachel Roy denied being Becky and having anything to do with JayZ.

  6. I also think Beyonce played up the cheating rumor to sell records. She’s always sang about love and heartbreak though so it’s not necessarily new subject matter. She’s deserving of a Grammy still, her album was more interesting and had more depth than Gwen’s IMO.

  7. Well, no one knew G/G were splitting up until she filed for divorce last year. Celebs can keep quiet about personal problems and smile for the camera when they want to LOL I think it’s possible Jay Z cheated, but only they know the truth. In any case, it’s a fantastic album and I hope she wins. She had a clear vision with the album and brought in the right people to see it through.

I obviously love TIWTTFL, but her team didn’t do her lyrics justice with the mediocre music they paired with the lyrics. Can’t help but think of how much better it would have been if it were a ND album. The boys would have killed on it!

Drake is the nom I scratched my head at… I like Drake, but his music is hit or miss with me. Is Views that good? Or is it because of the sales… It’s usually one or the other with the Grammy’s.
