Gwen and Blake Debuting “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” Live on ‘The Voice’ May 9 (Updated)

The Voice shared a new promo for Monday’s episode and hyped Gwen and Blake’s debut performance of “Go Ahead and Break My Heart”. The show is also promoting the track as their “new single”.

Make sure to tune in to The Voice this Monday on NBC at 8:00PM ET/PT!

We’ll be hearing Gwen and Blake Shelton’s duet track sooner than we thought! Blake Tweeted out that he and Gwen will be debuting “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” live on The Voice next week on May 9. The couple co-wrote the track late last year and everyone has been buzzing about it since the news broke that they were in the studio together.

“Go Ahead and Break My Heart” appears on Blake’s upcoming album If I’m Honest, available on May 20. Gwen first confirmed the track (that had been rumored and shot down in December) on Twitter sharing a photo of the album’s artwork featuring the song. She gushed about the collaboration on the red carpet of the Radio Disney Music Awards saying it’s a “shock” that they wrote together and was something she’s always wanted to do since joining The Voice. Gwen said that Blake is an amazing songwriter and storyteller and felt honored to work with him.

Blake had similar things to say about Gwen saying,

“This is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written or recorded. It came from a time and place when Gwen and I were beginning our journey together and both experiencing a hard time letting our guards down with each other. The song couldn’t possibly be more honest. I’m honored to have written and performed this song with the great Gwen Stefani. Respect.” (

We’re really looking forward to the track and are curious if “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” is set to be a single!

  1. Ha! I knew she was one of the writers for Blake’s song. Looking forward to this one 🙂

  2. This will probably be her next single. If this song is already coming next week, this explains why Misery isn’t sent to radio until the end of the month.

  3. Some people are saying they can now hear the preview– iTunes in another country and you tube, but I can’t track it down. Anyone? They are saying Gwen sounds great!

  4. It’s up on American iTunes now, you can buy it. It’s great– Gwen sounds fab — you will love it!
