This past Sunday on September 28, Gwen’s debut solo single, “What You Waiting For?”, celebrated it’s 10 year anniversary and we’ve decided to look back at some of our favorite performances for Flashback Friday. During our second batch of poll results, fans voted “What You Waiting For?” their favorite solo single from Gwen’s debut album, Love.Angel.Music.Baby.

The single hit #1 in Australia and peaked at #14 on the Billboard Pop 100, eventually making it to #1 on the US Hot Dance Club Party. “What You Waiting For?” was praised by critics everywhere and some even called the track the highlight of Gwen’s debut solo album.

Gwen performed and promoted “What You Waiting For?” all over the world including memorable performances on Top of the Pops, TRL, American Music Awards, Royal Variety Performance and the Billboard Music Awards. The song also was a showstopper on tour, which she chose to close the show with on The Sweet Escape tour.

Love.Angel.Music.Baby. will be celebrating it’s 10 year release anniversary on November 23 — which is very fitting as reports are surfacing that Gwen is set to debut her third album sometime in December! Gwen is also close to picking her new single which should be released in the coming weeks.

Scottish indie band Franz Ferdinand released a rad rock cover of the song which they performed on Radio 1’s Live Lounge in October 2006.

  2. This is her best solo song and the best music video ever. Not being biased, but this is what made me fall in love with Gwen.
