With their March issue expected to newsstands on February 10, Cosmopolitan magazine have shared a few excerpts from Gwen’s new interview from her cover feature. In the article, Gwen mentions how shocked she feels still having so many people care about her, her marriage with husband Gavin Rossdale and how she doesn’t take being in the music business after all these years for granted.

Gwen credits her longstanding marriage with Gavin to not only being themselves in the relationship but also having “their own individuality”. “That’s especially important for women—it’s hard to find time for yourself.” Gwen calls is a “miracle” being with Gavin for so long and says that they’ve been through so much together. She shared that Gavin is currently on a short tour and says it’s “good to have those days when we both do our own things.”

Growing up, Gwen says that she still finds it crazy landing landing such a hot guy like Gavin. “I don’t know if I was a nerd in high school, but I definitely wasn’t the super-cute cheerleader so I never saw myself getting somebody like that.” She continued by saying his looks is not a huge factor in their relationship but calls it nice since “he makes really cute babies!”

On her music career, Gwen’s parents instilled in her that music is a hobby and “it just doesn’t happen.” “It still shocks me that people care about me. I trip out about it all the time. It’s mind-blowing! For me, I’ve never gotten to a point where I felt, ‘Okay, I’ve made it, I’m number one!’ It’s an amazing feeling to hit number one, but it’s not that different a feeling from not being number one. It’s really about the journey—that’s where the joy comes. It’s not about the end result, because there isn’t really ever an end.”

  2. I think it’s pretty amazing that their marriage survives tours, fame, gossip, distance, etc. Good for them.
