In a new interview with MTV, Maroon 5 frontman and fellow season seven Voice coach, Adam Levine, revealed a few new details on the recently announced upcoming collaboration with Gwen that will be included on their new album, V, out this September.
He shares that the song with Gwen doesn’t have a title yet, saying “it’s being mixed right now”, but the name is between two contenders. Adam said that working with Gwen was “so much fun” calling her “incredible”. He says that he’s a huge fan of hers and while in the studio together, they just sat around and talked for hours getting to know each other.
No other details have been revealed yet at this time but we’re excited to see that the collaboration is already getting a lot of buzz! We could see the single (if released) being a huge hit and would be another huge opportunity and perfect timing for the Voice’s debut in September.
We wish Maroon 5, Gwen and their teams the best of luck on the new collaboration and we cannot wait to hear it!
MTV — From fine-tuning Maroon 5′s forthcoming fifth studio album, V (pronounced “Fiveâ€), to taping Season 7 of “The Voice,†Adam Levine is a little busy right now, to say the least. Luckily, I managed to catch the frontman by day, TV coach by night for a quick sec on June 19 to talk all things V.
And yes, that collaboration between Maroon 5 and Gwen Stefani that Adam teased on “On Air With Ryan Seacrest†earlier this week obviously came up.
“She’s incredible. It was so much fun,†Adam said of the No Doubt frontwoman, who was announced as a new coach on this fall’s season of “The Voice†back in April. “We just sat around and talked for hours. It was so fantastic getting to know her. I’m a huge fan of hers.â€
Too bad he couldn’t reveal the title of the collab yet. No, not because he hates me, but because it doesn’t technically have a name locked down yet. “It’s being mixed right now,†he revealed, “so I literally have not even named the song yet.†Adam did add that it’s “probably gonna be between two titles,†but wouldn’t divulge anything further.
In another excerpt from his interview with MTV, Adam says that both Gwen and Pharrell have been “amazing and just so cool and so fun and easy to work with”.
