We thought this was pretty interesting! Thanks to Chris for sending in the link to us! A new article on Rolling Stone’s website has been posted about stylist Trish Summerville, whom we are now finding out was No Doubt’s costume designer on the last tour! The band’s looks on the 2009 summer tour were iconic and stylish and started trends with fans and fellow artists (remember Paramore’s “Ignorance” video?) Trish is starting her own line with H&M retailers inspired by The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo film.
Rolling Stone — Costume designer and stylist Trish Summerville has been a hidden but salient force behind many of the decade’s most visually compelling pop stars. Renowned for shaping the bold style direction of tours for No Doubt, Black Eyed Peas, and Janet Jackson, she also liberated the grittier side of P!nk’s and Christina Aguilera’s aesthetics, citing “chola chic” as a core influence to her fashion approach. Summerville’s affinity for tough girls recently landed her an enviable gig as the official costume designer for David Fincher’s upcoming U.S. adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, the thriller based on Swedish author Stieg Larsson’s crime novel of the same name, and Summerville is designing a capsule collection based on the movie’s fashion for Swedish mass retailer.
